  • 25/03/19 – plant/heavy machinery (PET 2)
  • 13/05/19 – Lee on the Solent roads/highways (PET 3)
  • 03/06/19 – Bordon general multi-trades (PET 1)

All courses are 2 weeks long. All course graduates will get the CSCS card and health and safety training necessary to work on a building site.

Winchester CSF Courses

Construction Skills Fund Logo


Location: training cabin on the site of the new leisure centre being built by Willmott Dixon on the Garrison Ground, Bar End Road, Winchester, SO23 9NP. 

Pre-course info session: either the Wednesday or Thursday the week before each course (I will confirm to each learner.) This will be held at the same site. 

Duration: 3 weeks, 3-4 days a week, 9.30-3.  In week 4, there is a chance to catch up on anything that has been missed or needs going over again.


  • CSCS card; learners will take their CSCS test at the training cabin during the 3 week course.
  • Level 1 Health and Safety
  • Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills
  • Level 1 Banksman Ticket
  • Employability award
  • SEN support will be provided where needed.
  • Learners will go onsite with Willmott Dixon for 3 days during the last week of the course for work experience/observation. All PPE will be provided.

Progression: there will be ongoing support for learners to get them into work, which will include access to work experience opportunities, agencies and jobs.

Lee On Solent Plastering Course

Construction Skills Fund Logo

PET 1 Lee On Solent Plastering Course running from the 13th-24th May from the Silver Trowel premises.

The course will cover CSCS Card, H&S Level One, Plastering, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, and Mental Wellbeing.

This is a physical course due to its plastering focus, and candidates will need to be prepared for the physicality of it. In addition, candidates need to be aware that as this is not a college, so there is no onsite provision for SEN, although they will happily accommodate a scribe or reader if they accompany the learner. Steel toe cap boots are also a requirement for attending this course.
